Project week
DATUM: 2013-12-16 | TID: 07:43:29 | KATEGORI: theatreMorning babes!
This week is something else: no homework, project week and it will be the first time I will be on the stage and preform. I am so excited!
Project week is a six days long week when every program is specializing in their own subject. As I am studying drama I will have theatre for six days and end the week with a performance.
I have already had two days of project week and I have been stupid not to blog about them. Anyways those days were good and we got split in to groups so we could plan and improvise our own scene. I ended up with the lovely Elena as she is Mary in the nativity play and I'm Joseph.
We have got some really nice scenes, and now when we've worked a lot with them it feels so practiced. I just need to be spontaneous when I'm up on stage.
Some feedback that I've got is the focus, I really need to give Elena my focus by looking at her. Really look at her!
We will see how today goes and I will keep my blog updated!
Hurray!!
Clown workshop 5&6 and theatre lesson
DATUM: 2013-12-05 | TID: 17:20:22 | KATEGORI: theatreI've had my last two clown workshop and they went pretty well.
We worked in pairs, and I worked with my lovely Elena because I will interact with her the most in our play.
Clown Workshop 6:
We were supposed to get in on stage, dancing around three laps and then introduce our clowns and our duo name. When that was over both of our clowns did not have a routine and we were very confused. Haha!
This went pretty well, we had some great moments and it was fun. I just really need to take in the audience and do it for them instead of a play between me and Elena. Flops are good, dare to stay longer in them!
Workshop 6:
On that lesson we were also working in pair, with Elena of course! This time we were getting on stage knowing what to do, and we got an animal portray. We got birds. When one of us were doing "the bird" the other one was supposed to stay behind and look at the clown acting and be impressed. If the clown who were acting got a lot of flops the other one were there to save him/her.
This exercise went really well, we had nice ping-pong as our clown teacher called it. Plus we had very great ideas, both me and Elena got great laughter which feels amazing when you're up there exposing yourself. I got pretty much the same feedback this time, be with the audience!!
I need to work on that hah!
Clown lesson:
Today we had clown again, without our clown instructor which was a bit scary. My drama teacher did a great lesson and I got very concentrated, she got me relax and it went pretty good.
Today I got the same feedback! Again! I really need to take the audience in.
Clown workshop: lesson 4
DATUM: 2013-11-18 | TID: 15:50:18 | KATEGORI: theatreToday's clown workshop was so much better, the audience laughed (hallelujah!!) and I felt more confident than what I have done before.
I may not have found my clown yet, but it feels a lot better.
Clown Workshop: Lesson 3.
DATUM: 2013-11-17 | TID: 19:44:34 | KATEGORI: GeneralFrustrated. I feel frustruted. This clown lesson was so unhelpful and it felt like the teacher was not trying to bring out the best of me.
I really like the teacher, I do, he's funny but it feels like he tries to help everyone to find they're thing, besides me. When it was my turn to go up infront of everyone and do a character, the clown teacher picked up the wrong things and when I followed his instructions it did not go well. I got so frustrated.
I got to do Marilyne Monroe, it went well the first five minutes. Then I felt I were just repeating myself and I did not get any response from the audience. You feel when it's time to walk off the stage and instead the teacher got me playing for 10 more minutes and I felt I couldn't do it.
I guess I didn't have the right attitude this time either. I can see that after what I have written haha! Next time tomorrow I will try to be more enthusiastic and not go out of character when the teacher interrupts me.
I have the best drama teacher's who made me feel happy, and said what I did well in. Mr. Junkka said he things I have strong facial expressions and that he thinks I am doing well. Janna said that I did well too, and like I've already mentioned "to stay in character the whole time".
This is what I learned this lesson:
- Always stay in character
- Never confess while being clown, that nobody laughs.
- A "flop" is a good thing.
- Don't get frustrated
